Paper Quilling

About few days ago i got an event invitation. It was about paper quilling. About whattt? Paper Quilling. Hmm what’s paper quilling i wonder. So, i searched on google about paper quilling and this is the review:

Paper quilling is an art that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is wound around a quill to create a basic coil shape. The paper is then glued at the tip and theses shaped coil are arranged to form flowers, leaves, and various ornamental patterns.

Last Saturday i joined my first paper quilling class at the Russian Center for Science and Culture Jakarta. It was interesting. You need to calm and focus on your paper strips and glue, otherwise you would mess up your coils with glue here and there. Tadaaaa…i made this one, this is a magnet doggy face:

and also i made this cute flowers:

Those things i made by rolling paper strips. I use Kokoru (Color Corrugated Paper). Paper quilling is interesting and fun. I’m drawn into making these cute things. I’ve found a new art activity beside sketching and painting. I will share some of my sketches later.
